ABOUT

Eric Matz was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He and his family attended St. Paul's First Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, California. He has been a member of our church for most of his life and has volunteered there whenever the opportunity arose.

Eric attended Cal State Northridge for his undergraduate, where he earned a degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Sociology. He returned a year later and earned his California Teaching Credential for Multiple Subjects, which is intended for elementary education. After earning this credential, he took online classes through Martin Luther College to get his synod certification. In 2021, Eric taught 2nd grade at Reformation Lutheran School in San Diego. While at Reformation, he was an assistant coach for elementary boy's basketball. In April 2022, he accepted a call to teach 5th grade here at North Hollywood Christian Academy.
